Currently accepting clients virtually worldwide for 1:1 yoga therapy.

My passion is to provide compassionate and integrative care for all dimensions of you, from body to soul, as you come home to yourself.

So, what is yoga therapy?

Yoga therapy is a bio-psycho-social model of care that is quickly emerging as a valuable adjunct to other healthcare modalities. It prioritizes alleviating suffering at present, while addressing underlying factors and supporting healing at a deeper level. Health care professionals often recommend yoga to their patients, however these general recommendations commonly lack the nuance and accommodations many patients need.

While all yoga has the potential to be healing, yoga therapy involves the application of practices and tools from yoga and Ayurveda to address an individual’s unique needs, which may relate to their physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual wellness.

As a yoga therapist, I have specific training in assessing a client’s needs and designing specialized and accessible treatment plans that can help address a client’s goals. Treatment plans may include postures, movement, breath work, meditation, or other grounding practices.

Ayurveda is considered the ‘sister science’ to yoga. Ayurveda uses lifestyle practices to support balance and nourishment in rhythm with nature. Ayurveda incorporates the 5 elements (space, air, fire, water, and earth) and their respective qualities to cultivate harmony and vitality.

What does a yoga therapy session entail?

The first session consists of a comprehensive intake of your concerns, needs, and goals for our work together, and introducing an initial treatment plan with practices for you to do on your own.

Each session includes checking in about your progress and exploring modifications to your treatment plan, as well as guided practices including relaxation, nervous system regulation, postures or movement, breath work (pranayama), guided meditation, mudra, applied mindfulness practices, or review of lifestyle and daily routine.

I’ll record and share the treatment plan with you as a guide to use on your own. I may also share other resources to support you in your goals.
